As a previous resident and home owner in Whitby, Durham, I can say that Whitby is a beautiful place to live, work and play. The Town of Whitby offers a number of great amenities for this vibrant community is centred around. Some great and hightly sough after neighbourhood like Downtown, Port of Whitby & Whitby Shores make for a very hot real estate market for all types of homes.
Historic
During WWII Whitby was the location of Camp X, a secret spy training facility.
Cultural
Be sure to learn more about the Durham Council for the Arts, Whitby Brass Band, Whitby Courthouse Theatre, Whitby Heritage Day, Whitby Public Library & Station Gallery for all source of great artistic and cultural assets that this beautiful town by the lake has to offer.

Notable facilities include the Iroquois Sports Complex, featuring the The Sports Garden Cafe, the McKinney Sports Complex and Luther Vipond Area in Brooklin.

The real estate market is Durham, due in large part to it`s proximity to the city of Toronto, as well as being a less commercial and industrial part of the Greater Toronto Area. Family homes are still affordable but prices are on a stead rise. With the number of new home being newly listed on the market being very high, keeping on top of new listing can be quite a challenge. The best properties move very quickly. My previous home in Whitby Shore was only on the market for 2 days.
